Finding Eden

map marker

Good morning everyone.

As of today, Eden will be closing to everyone except staff and volunteers. As covid 19 continues to be a dangerous threat to society some people continue to use the golf course as a walking park. We are a golf course and a business that's been ordered to close. Lately there have been spottings of people golfing and cars in the parking lot which clearly is not allowed. The Premier is from this area and is saying to close.  Let's represent Eden with respect and show our support. I know this is not what any of us want, however, the sooner we follow all the rules the sooner we could potentially be golfing.

The RCMP will be policing our course as closed and anyone who goes there will be trespassing and could be subject to the minimum fine of $1000. If anyone who is part of our business breaches this regulation, the club could be fined $7500. We are not in any position to pay for anything like that. Let's band together "stay home and stay safe" and cross our fingers that everyone does their part.

Respectfully,

Mark Gallant,
President
Eden Golf and Country Club.

As a state of emergency has been declared on our province Eden Golf and Country Club will be shutdown indefinitely.

We take this Government action very seriously and we should all be safe and take care of ourselves and our families.

With the uncertainty surrounding this Virus it could be weeks, months or longer.

Once this state of emergency has been lifted we will find the best options to proceed as a club.

Respectfully,

Mark Gallant,

President
Eden Golf and Country Club.

Good Afternoon Fellow Members, Guests and Friends of Eden,

Firstly, I hope everyone is staying safe and positive during this very difficult time in our society. With that being said, the Executive of Eden have decided to temporarily open Eden Golf and Country Club on Saturday March 21, 2020 at 10 am. However, with that being said, some safety requirements and stipulations are being implemented.

Your health and well being is first and foremost.

The clubhouse will remain closed; including the kitchen and washroom facilities. At this time, Eden is not offering a place to gather inside.

The Proshop will be closed to entry by the public and our staff will operate through the side window. We ask you call ahead to book tee times and pay via credit card, if possible. Tapping your debit when paying would also be appreciated.

Carts will be available to rent and we will have staff sanitizing each cart as they return. More information and instruction will be available upon arrival.

Flag sticks will not be in the holes; rather we will be using small survey flags near each hole, that we request not be moved.

Importantly, we also promote social distancing and respect each other's space whether you are a friend or a stranger. Please follow the NS Government Safety requirements especially if you have travelled outside of Canada.

We ask that you respect these guidelines; and simply enjoy a round of golf with your friends. Let's promote "Elbow Bumps" not handshakes.

Everyone wants this to be a positive experience in a very difficult time.

This is as of 5pm on Tuesday March. 17th if we have any updates or changes we will keep you posted.

Respectfully yours,

Mark Gallant

President
Eden Golf and Country Club

Happy New Year to all Eden members and hope 2020 brings us all health and happiness.

With 2019 behind us and a new year ahead we are looking forward to a great golf season. With a new year comes new changes and this year our Board of Directors say goodbye to Wayne Buckler. Wayne has not only been a great leader and president he's also been a great member and friend to us all. He might not be directing our club in 2020 but he will another smiling member making divots out there. On behalf of myself, the Board of Directors and the members thank you for your time and effort to help Eden be successful.

We are excited for this year and have some new people in some important positions. President (Mark Gallant) , Vice President (Charlene Lombard) , Treasurer (Doug King) are the executive changes for 2020 with John Harrison still as Secretary. The rest of the Directors are Karl Lightfoot, Cathy Graves, Bill Mahar, Ed Eby, Bob Doyle, Adam Chipman and Phil Kent. We have had a few meetings as a group and not only have they all been positive but all with the same goal in mind , putting the success of Eden Golf and Country Club first and foremost.

This season we are also going to make communication to our members a priority. Ian Wallace will be in charge of the Eden Expressions newsletter which will come out monthly to keep each member posted on upcoming events and as we all know Ian Wallace, most likely some humor.

This season we will be implementing committees for different parts of our club such as greens , house , juniors etc. As we all know each member has a voice so let's make it a positive one and sign up for a committee and get involved.

I would also like to thank all of the volunteers clear cutting, cleaning up and piling wood without you guys this course would never look as beautiful as we will see it in spring time when we open. Again Thank you....

I look forwarding to seeing everyone on the course and being involved in a positive way in 2020. Let's make Eden shine in 2020 for everyone who plays.

Thank you,

Mark Gallant
President,
Eden Golf and Country Club
